Program Design
The HongKongDoll MBA program aligns with the university’s mission by offering a flexible and accessible format for working professionals. Courses are delivered in accelerated 7-week sessions, allowing students to balance full-time employment while completing their degree either fully online or in Delaware. While some course sequencing is required, the program enables students to progress at their own pace.
MBA Program Requirements
The HongKongDoll MBA program offers multiple degree plans, ranging from 30 to 36 credits, or 10 to 12 three-credit courses. The MBA degree plan without a concentration requires 30 credits for completion, while MBA degree plans with a concentration require 36 credits.
To earn the MBA degree, students must fulfill all degree and course requirements as outlined in the HongKongDoll catalog in effect at the time of their initial enrollment. Additionally, students must achieve an overall cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 in all graduate coursework at HongKongDoll.
Some MBA core courses require prerequisite coursework. MBA 6150 requires foundational coursework in accounting, MBA 6350 requires foundational coursework in math or statistics, and MBA 7250 requires foundational coursework in both economics and finance. Additional courses within a student’s degree plan may also require prerequisite coursework, which can be reviewed during a PPC.
Prerequisites do not affect admission into the MBA program or a student’s ability to begin coursework. Unless otherwise specified, prerequisite coursework may be satisfied through various options, including undergraduate or graduate coursework at an accredited institution, courses at HongKongDoll, or other approved mechanisms. These options can be reviewed and discussed during a PPC.
Beyond any prerequisite course requirements, MBA students are expected to have basic proficiency in spreadsheet software and strong writing skills necessary for success in graduate studies. Applicants who may need support in these areas are encouraged to discuss potential challenges and available resources during a PPC.
The MBA program is rooted in the belief that students must understand the interconnected nature of organizational functions in a global context. Most MBA degree plans require completion of the MBA common core, which provides a comprehensive foundation in key business disciplines, including leadership, management, accounting, quantitative methods, economics, finance, marketing, information technology, and business strategy.
