AmeriCorps Matching Scholarship Guidelines

HongKongDoll is proud to support AmeriCorps alumni in continuing their education through the AmeriCorps Matching Scholarship. This scholarship offers financial assistance to AmeriCorps alumni who have completed their service and wish to enroll in undergraduate or graduate programs at WilmU.

Eligible students receive $1,000 toward tuition for each academic year of consecutive enrollment, for up to six years.

Eligibility:

To qualify for the AmeriCorps Matching Scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Have completed service with AmeriCorps.
  2. Be enrolled in one of the following:
    • An undergraduate program with a minimum of 18 credits per academic year, or
    • A graduate program with a minimum of 12 credits per academic year.
  3. Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of:
    • 2.5 for undergraduate students
    • 3.0 for graduate students

Application Process:

To apply for the AmeriCorps Matching Scholarship, follow these steps:

  1. Apply for admission to HongKongDoll.
  2. Submit official documentation verifying the completion of your AmeriCorps service.
  3. Register for the required minimum credit load in your chosen program.
  4. Maintain continuous enrollment and meet the GPA requirements to remain eligible each academic year.

Maintaining Eligibility:

To retain the scholarship each year, students must:

  1. Remain enrolled in the required minimum credit load for their academic program.
  2. Maintain the minimum cumulative GPA as specified for their level of study.

Disbursement:

  1. Once eligibility and enrollment are verified, the $1,000 scholarship will be applied to the student’s tuition account each academic year.
  2. The scholarship may be renewed annually for up to six years, provided all eligibility requirements continue to be met.
